- Continual development and maintenance of the Company’s supplier quality system that is effective in producing, measuring, and maintaining a reliable supply base.
- Maintain and improve quality operations, monitor KPI's, and initiate corrective and continuous improvement actions. Define and implement new quality controls, systems and document control.
- Coordinate with suppliers on all initiatives related to supplier quality performance, track performance trends, and perform quality trend analysis from the supplier base. Facilitating corrective actions as appropriate.
- Perform supplier quality audits and participate in supplier reviews. Provide input to the Purchasing Department regarding supplier quality.
- Ensure the quality of products provided by the supply base. Evaluate rejected items. Document and track non-conformances for incoming materials. Ensure that nonconforming material is dispositioned in a timely manner.
- Performing engineering analysis of product quality defects and problem solving with suppliers using Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) and other tools as appropriate.
- Perform evaluation and documentation of product PPAP during new product development and mass production. Participate in the development and improvement of the manufacturing processes for existing and new products.
- Maintain quality records, including non-conformance reports, inspection reports, nonconforming inventory records, and corrective action reports.
- Actively participate in the company’s internal quality audit program.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline with preference to Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering and 2 years related experience, or equivalent.
- Requires effective technical problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to assess and implement continuous improvement techniques.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
- Experience with quality tools and APQP methods such as 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP preferred.
- Microsoft Excel and Access skills required.
- SAP knowledge is a plus.
