Overaa was ranked as a Bay Area Best Places to Work seven years in a row and outperforms industry benchmarks in compensation and benefits.Although our offices are in Richmond and San Jose, this specific position will be located at a project in the Sacramento/ Roseville area.Senior Project EngineerAn Overaa Project Engineer (PE) is a contributing member of the project team and is instrumental in project success through engagement with craft field operations and supporting project management duties. As a member of an individual Project Team, the PE is responsible for the smooth administration of their project(s) including close collaboration with the Superintendent and the Project Manager to support the needs of the project. The PE participates in scheduling, estimating, cost control, document control, and jobsite production with the overall goal of achieving the maximum profit. Project Engineers may also be assigned responsibilities in estimating, business development and preconstruction.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage submittal process
  • Manage and Process RFI's
  • PCO Development and management of Change Order Process
  • Subcontract Management
  • Project Document Control
  • Develop and manage procurement tracking log
  • Support Project Startup
  • Assist Superintendent in preparation of the weekly 'Short Term Look Ahead Schedule' to monitor progress and assure all work is scheduled for maximum efficiency.
  • Attend and participate in all project meetings.
  • Manage project closeout including punchlist, O&Ms, spare parts, and Warranties
  • Support project team in development of project specific workplans.

Overall Responsibilities and Authority
  • The PE works equally and directly for both the PM and the project Superintendent.
  • Performs project duties with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Works as a team with assigned superintendent(s), Project Managers to build projects in a controlled manner.
  • The role of the PE on a project is to administer project business including document control, startup activities including buyout, submittal management, RFI processing, Subcontractor coordination, and supporting the technical and administrative needs of the Superintendent.
  • Primarily located on the project site. If assigned to the site, it is expected the PE at his desk ready to work at the beginning of the work day on site.
  • Acts as a company representative to the Owner on assigned projects.
  • Maintains strict adherence to Company processes and procedures.
  • Studies the prime contract with the owner and is responsible to know our rights and obligations under the contract.
  • Understands the notice provisions of the prime contract and follows strict adherence to them to preserve our rights and reduce our risk.
  • The PE is empowered to escalate issues to more senior managers to seek greater company support at the earliest sign of jeopardy of the project's success.
Experience and Skills:Qualifications
  • years of relevant project experience in of all phases of construction.
  • Degree in Construction Management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
  • Organized with a systematic approach to achieve high level results.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.
  • Expertise in QSP, SWPPP, LEED and sustainability is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Primavera, Navisworks, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint project manager software is a plus.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $ 100,000 to $ 130,000 per year. This does not include bonus compensation or other benefits such as health, disability, life, retirement, or other benefits which may impact total compensation. The actual offered salary to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to skill set, experience, education, qualifications, and location.
