Job Description Summary Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
  • Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations.
  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
Required Qualifications
  • Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role (manufacturing or similar industry preferred) OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing or leadership position
Eligibility Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to work the Off-Shift- 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.
Desired Characteristics
  • Engineering or management degree.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience running projects in a machine shop environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Established project management skills
  • Ability to foster a culture of safety and quality.
Pay TransparencyThe base pay range for this position is $74,800 - $85,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
