This role involves developing engaging lesson plans aligned with Arkansas state standards, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills.​Curriculum and Instruction
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Arkansas K-12 Science Standards.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance scientific understanding.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback.​
Classroom Management
  • Establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and respecting all students.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote student engagement and discipline.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons and share best practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address concerns.
Other Responsibilities (As Needed)
  • Supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities.
  • Write letters of recommendation for students.
  • Additional tasks as requested to support student achievement, school culture, and team collaboration.
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education or related field required.Licenses: Standard Arkansas Teaching License in Science 7-12; or eligible for licensure through reciprocity; or enrolled in an .Experience: Prior teaching experience at the secondary level preferred.
  • Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks.
  • Ongoing participation in professional development activities as required by ADE.
  • Strong content knowledge in science; proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience teaching in a KIPP or other high-performing charter school environment preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
