Davey Resource Group (DRG) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Underground Utility Locator to join our team. As an Underground Utility Locator, you will be responsible for locating and marking underground utilities to ensure their safety and prevent damage during construction or excavation projects. This is a vital role in ensuring the integrity of utility systems and the safety of workers.Job Duties
  • Utilize underground locating equipment and client work prints locate underground water and sewer facilities.
  • Collaborate with the DRG operations team and underground subcontractors to schedule locating in Ohio and being flexible with travel.
  • Maintain accurate records of utility locations to include redlines and photographs.
  • Conduct a safety assessment at each job site to identify potential hazards or issues.
  • Must be able to speak in depth to the concepts and methodologies of precision locating, and be highly proficient in utilizing equipment provided by DRG
  • May perform other fiber construction operational duties as assigned, to include working with an aerial placement crew.
Requirements
  • Ability to travel for work.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Previous underground utility locating experience.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, bend, reach and to move or carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Proficient use of field-based computers and tablets.
  • Ability to proficiently use a handheld/backpack GPS unit and locate underground utilities accurately.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Presentations, Forms).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings related to utility systems.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
