Position: Industrial Designer II (multiple positions available)
Location: Nashville, TNMultiple Positions Available:1. Plan, design and implement complex high-volume direct-to consumer fulfillment processes, systems and facilities for capacity expansion and continuous improvement of worldwide fulfillment infrastructure throughout the large-scale supply chain network.
2. Provide technical leadership for large-scale industrial engineering projects.
3. Use Process Improvement methodologies to analyze Fulfillment Center processes and equipment and recommend and implement improvements to safety procedures, work processes and labor standards.
4. Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions for the network, including equipment specification, material flow, process design, and site layout.
5. Manage capital projects and create conceptual drawings, equipment specifications and bid documentation to facilitate a competitive bid environment.
6. Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality with vendors or subcontractors. Inspect facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures relating to material handling, processing and storage.
7. Develop and manage budget and contract documents including Requests for Proposals, change order controls, purchase orders and invoicing.
8. Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance and safety practices are followed for new and existing equipment.
9. Domestic travel up to 25% to perform role responsibilities may be requiredBASIC QUALIFICATIONSA Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Logistics, Computer Science, Business Administration/Management, Math or related discipline and 1 year of experience in job offered or industrial engineering, operations engineering, manufacturing engineering, logistics engineering, or project engineering related occupation in a manufacturing environment. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Logistics, Computer Science, Business Administration/Management, Math or related discipline followed by 5 progressively responsible years of experience in job offered or industrial engineering, operations engineering, manufacturing engineering, logistics engineering, or project engineering related occupation in a manufacturing environment.Experience must include:1. 1 year of experience in High-volume direct-to-consumer fulfillment processes and operations.
2. 1 year of experience using AutoCAD or related project management software to build concepts for manufacturing processes and related facility concepts (material handling equipment optimization and strategic layout planning).
3. 1 year of experience using analytical tools to design statistical data charts and graphs related to facility concepts including material handling equipment optimization and simulation and strategic plant layout design and planning.
4. 1 year of experience leading cross-functional operations, engineering, or supply chain projects using Lean Process Improvement/Six Sigma methodologies, performance metrics or related processes to increase efficiency within manufacturing or supply chain processes.
