Sanmina Corporation has facilities strategically located in key regions throughout the world.SMT OPERATOR (Temporary)Job Purpose:This position is responsible for the operation of automated Surface Mount Equipment (SMT).Job Duties:
  • Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic SMT machines used in the production of the company's product.
  • Works from specific drawings, procedures and process documentation to perform production tasks.
  • Pays attention to process controls and process inputs as required to monitor product quality, including Statistical Process Control, process improvements and line optimization as they relate to the SMT process.
  • Conducts product inspection according to specific procedures.
  • Uses PC-based software tools for setups, maintains component and machine specific databases as new devices and shape codes are introduced.
  • Interfaces with Engineering and other support groups with regard to line problems and process improvements.
  • Follows all Company Safety and ESD Program requirements. Responsible to report all accidents, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Properly handles and disposes all waste, including hazardous wastes that are generated in daily operations as directed by applicable SOP(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • High School or equivalent
  • 1-2 years equivalent experience
  • SMT Operator experience preferred
  • Knowledge of PCB handling, ESD practices, and IPC-610 standards
Physical DemandsRequired to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment; talk and hear in person; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasionally may need to exert up to 30 pounds of force to lift, carry, push and pull or otherwise move objects.
