At Notre Dame, your work matters, and so do you!Job DescriptionThe Institute for Educational Initiatives (IEI) recently launched the Center for Educational Research and Action (Era), a hub dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary educational research at the University of Notre Dame. Through collaborative scholarship and impactful programs, Era seeks to elevate research that improves education locally and nationally.The Center for Educational Research and Action (Era) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Temporary | Administrative Assistant to support the Director and program operations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful education-focused work while gaining experience in a dynamic academic center.This is a temporary position (limited to a maximum of 900 hours per year). We anticipate a regular schedule of 15–20 hours per week, with occasional weeks reaching up to 40 hours, depending on project needs. Work hours are flexible but will generally occur Monday–Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Director’s calendar and assist with scheduling meetings and events.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, including preparation of materials, note-taking, and follow-up.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and supporting events hosted by Era.
  • Prepare and process expense reports and other administrative documents.
  • Provide administrative support for the Tutor-ND program affiliated with Era.
  • Handle special projects and new tasks as assigned, bringing creativity and initiative to problem-solving.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Zoom.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new projects and changing priorities.
