The coordinator will showcase skills to create and foster a positive daycare culture of top quality pet care and exceptional customer service to internal and external customers/employees.Job Responsibilities:60% - Daycare Operations: Ensure proper care of all pets within the center. Monitor play groups of different breeds and sizes. Ensure that exceptional customer service and pet care is maintained. Develop strong relationships with both pets and customers. Answer all incoming calls, voicemails, and emails to answer daycare questions and book reservations. Manage cash, check, and credit card transactions. Obtain all necessary documentation such as vaccination records, behavior, food restrictions, medication, etc. and input into computer system of record. Ensure that the facility exceeds expectations in regard to cleanliness and safety. This includes keeping all areas clean and maintained, free from hazards, wet floors, defecation, etc. Maintain, clean, and disinfect all kennels. Wash and sterilize water bowls. Wash, dry, and fold any towels, blankets, or beds.35% - Supervision: Train and supervise students to uphold the integrity and expectations of the daycare. Ensure all policies and procedures are followed. Provide ongoing development and team collaboration.5% - Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeDegree Substitute - High School Diploma & 4 years of related veterinarian technician, dog daycare, or animal handling experience or Associate's Degree with 2 years of related veterinarian technician, dog daycare, or animal handling experience.Specific Experience - Some veterinarian technician, dog daycare, or animal handling experience required.Special and Physical Qualifications:Safety and Security Sensitive Job - Safety and security-sensitive positions are defined as those positions where any form of substance abuse may affect University activities through unsafe work behavior/performance or error in judgment; or where substance abuse could jeopardize the safety and well-being of employees, other personnel, or the general public, or cause significant damage to University property. This includes positions requiring firearms, access to controlled substances, handling hazardous material, operating heavy equipment or machinery, etc. These positions are subject to drug screens per PS-67/FASOP HR-04.Essential Personnel - This position may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18.Cash Handling - This position has access to/directly handles cash. Financial history/credit check required per FASOP HR-04.FERPA - As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.May be required to come in after hours, on weekends or holidays to address issues regarding the department.
