- Manage the general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and cash flow.
- Oversee revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 (SaaS standards).
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements.
- Deliver clear, accurate financial reports to leadership, the board, and prospective investors.
- Prepare for and manage annual audits and due diligence processes.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and SaaS-industry best practices.
- Build and manage budgets aligned to company strategy and growth targets.
- Lead rolling forecasts, scenario planning, and variance analysis.
- Provide insights that drive smarter hiring, investment, and pricing decisions.
- Establish financial policies, approval processes, and internal controls.
- Safeguard against fraud, error, and risk related to financial operations.
- Partner with the CTO/CSO to ensure financial systems and sensitive data remain secure.
- Track and report SaaS KPIs: ARR, MRR, churn, CAC, LTV, gross margin.
- Support fundraising readiness for growth investments.
- Collaborate with leadership on financial strategy, pricing, and packaging of new services.
- Has 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience (SaaS/technology preferred).
- Holds a CPA or equivalent professional designation (preferred, not required).
- Demonstrates expertise in GAAP, SaaS revenue recognition, and financial controls.
- Thrives in a high-growth environment with limited resources and high accountability.
- Is comfortable rolling up their sleeves while also advising at the strategic level.
- Communicates clearly, builds trust, and maintains confidentiality.
- Own all accounting and finance operations.
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and SaaS KPI tracking.
- Support leadership and investors with financial insights and due diligence.
- Monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages.
- Annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Clean, audit-ready financial statements.
- SaaS KPI dashboards to guide leadership decisions.
