
HMI and Network Engineer

- Design, implement and support communication networks for control system applications.
- Provide system design engineering as required to facilitate the ordering, engineering, installation (construction) design and commissioning of GE and third-party control systems and industrial networks.
- Provide technical support to software engineers in meeting customer needs on HMI applications.
- Support Engineering Services field personnel in technical resolution of field problems.
- Handle multiple projects / activities.
- Be accountable for on-time schedule performance, project milestones, customer deliverables, and compliance with regulations and standards.
- Provide assistance with quality assurance on projects.
- Review and interpret customer specifications.
- Perform hardware selection of system control components for HMI solutions.
- Travel both domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time, as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited university or college
- Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time.

- Demonstrated aptitude for and interest in or experience working with industrial network communication protocols such as OPC, Modbus, TCP/IP, ProfiBus.
- Background in HMI application software including Proficy Cimplicity and Historian based products.
- Working knowledge of Visio
- Demonstrated interest in or experience working in the industrial controls or power generation industry.
- Strong computer skills: experience setting up Windows based applications including Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 7, Windows 10, Server 2012 and proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
- Technical skills in engineering design and construction practices
- Proven team player with solid cooperation, flexibility and demonstrated capacity to learn complex information quickly.
- Hands-on experience programming GE Mark VI turbine control and Cimplicity HMI software
- Field experience in related equipment
