Job Description:OverviewNetwork Comms EngineerLOCATION: Boulder, COJOB STATUS: Full-timeCLEARANCE: Top Secret with SCI eligibilityCERTIFICATION: Sec+, CCNP, CASP+, or SCCP+TRAVEL: As NeededSALARY RANGE: $165k - $245kAstrion has an exciting opportunity for a Network Comms Engineer to join our team supporting the Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing Directorate at the Boulder Ground Innovation Facility (BGIF). In this role, you will provide expert network engineering services, ensuring seamless connectivity for intra-enclave and external networks, including NIPR, SIPR, RTS, PWAN, GWAN, and SBIRS Analytical Sub-Elements (ASE). You will maintain and optimize network performance, support future interfaces such as JWICS, and enable critical communications that support national security operations.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS10+ years of experience in network engineering, with expertise in LAN/WAN design, implementation, and troubleshootingProven experience with multiple secure network interfaces and protocols in a DoD or national security environmentBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related fieldActive Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibilityRelevant professional certifications such as Security+, CCNP, CASP+, or SCCP+RESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical support for all intra-enclave and external network connectivity (WAN/LAN) at BGIFMaintain and optimize network interfaces to NIPR, SIPR, RTS, PWAN (Blossom Point Tracking Facility link), GWAN, and SBIRS Analytical Sub-Elements (ASE)Support future network interfaces, including JWICS, as directed by the GovernmentDeliver network engineering support up to the communications demarcation for BGIFServe as a subject matter expert to collaborate with multiple tenants and external communications providers on outages, testing, upgrades, impacts, risks, mitigation, status, and reporting for both planned and unplanned eventsTroubleshoot, resolve, and maintain network performance to ensure operational readinessCollaborate with Government stakeholders and internal teams to implement upgrades, changes, and new capabilitiesDocument network configurations, updates, and procedures to maintain operational continuity and complianceWhat We Offer
