
Entry-Level Structural Engineer - Water Resources

- Assisting with the structural design of water resource structures and other structural engineering projects
- Evaluating and analyzing existing structures
- Preparing structural plans and specifications for bidding and construction
- Preparing formatted structural calculation packages
- Writing technical reports; and participating in site visits
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university or within nine months of hire
- Structural engineering coursework including design of concrete, steel, masonry and timber
- Structural analysis and design in-practice (work experience) including concrete, steel, masonry, and anchorage
- Design, analysis, and construction methods of water retaining structures and retaining walls using reinforced concrete
- Construction administration of structural systems including observations, RFIs, submittal review, and working collaboratively with contractors to develop solutions
- Structural engineering software programs including finite element analysis, CAD, 3D modeling, and production programs (such as RISA-3D, SAP2000, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, SolidWorks, and Bluebeam Revu)
- Structural engineering Codes and Standards
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Familiarity with in-house calculation tools including spreadsheets (MS Excel)
