For more urban pursuits, Roanoke, Charlotte, and Washington D.C. are not far away.Job Description:School Testing Coordinator Assistant6.5 hours/day; 200 days/yearAuburn Middle School and Shawsville Middle SchoolMontgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is accepting applications for a Testing Coordinator Assistant position that is available at Auburn Middle School and Shawsville Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a split position between the two schools.PRIMARY FUNCTION:To assist the school with the maintenance of PowerSchool groups and reports; administering, organizing, ordering, distributing, collecting, and shipping test materials; disseminating results of tests (i.e., SOL, MAP, CTE assessments, WorkKeys, etc.) administered at the high-school level; monitoring of test sites and collaborating with the division assessment coordinator, administrators, and counselors to ensure that all tests are administered in accordance with federal, state and county regulations; other duties deemed appropriate by the division assessment coordinator (DDOT) or the school testing coordinator (STC).QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of the Google platform (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Student Information Systems (i.e., PowerSchool)
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule and perform technical duties in support of the division’s student testing program
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Computer literate with proficiencies in Excel, Word, and database entry/maintenance
  • Ability to maintain an unquestionable degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and meet schedules and timelines
  • Ability to multitask, work with interruptions, and work under pressure
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with division staff, school administrators, and teachers
  • Ability to work within a flexible work schedule
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Duties may change depending on the state/division test being administered
  • Pre-Testing: Update, maintain, and query student information system groups and reports, work with STC to train test examiners and proctors, track testing records for transfer students, inform parents and staff of testing dates and locations check equipment function,
  • During Testing: Monitor test sites, organize expedited retakes, and distribute lists of make-up students to teachers
  • Post-Testing: Organize and account for testing materials, prepare student scores and distribute to administrators, teachers and parents as requested
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining and distributing testing procedures for schools, and creating a documentation notebook for the county coordinator and for state audits
  • Provide information regarding student information to DDOT as requested
  • Work with special education, 504 coordinator, ESL teacher, etc. to coordinate accommodations and prepare documentation for the SOLs, College Board (SSD), etc.
  • Perform general office correspondence and keep computer records
  • Assist with student supervision and office tasks
