Position DescriptionHarvard University Information Technology (HUIT) is a community of Information Technology professionals committed to delivering service and technological solutions in support of teaching, learning, research and administration. Reporting to the Director of Arts and Humanities Research Computing, this position will play a key role in advancing digital humanities research at the university. This position will focus on faculty outreach, conducting DH-related workshops, and acting as project manager for the digital humanities projects the DARTH engineering team supports. These projects cover a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to, pigments used in historic South Asian paintings, ancient Egyptian archaeology, Irish and Scottish folklore, and proposed amendments to the US Constitution.The ideal candidate works best within a team environment, is a self-starter, and can handle multiple projects. The candidate should have experience with multiple digital humanities tools and methodologies.Typical Core Duties:

  • Facilitate outreach to faculty across various disciplines to promote digital humanities methods and tools for research
  • Organize and run workshops with colleagues in other departments to support researchers
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of select digital humanities projects, including coordinating project requirements, communicating with stakeholders, tracking timelines, and ensuring deliverables are met
  • Cultivate relationships with external partners and facilitate collaborations between faculty, libraries, and other campus units. Pursue grant and funding opportunities to support digital initiatives
  • Offer technical support and training to faculty, staff, and students on digital tools and platforms. Troubleshoot issues and assist users in applying technologies to research and teaching
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the center's strategic plan and assessment of digital humanities programs and resources
  • Abide by and follow the Harvard University IT technical standards, policies and Code of Conduct

This position has been designated as a primarily remote position. While this position is primarily remote, travel to campus may be necessary based on business needs and the nature of work.
