- Review and evaluate job specifications for each project to ensure accurate cost estimation.
- Calculate the time required to complete each job, accounting for all phases of production.
- Estimates labor and material costs for each project, ensuring that all relevant factors are considered.
- Obtain pricing information from internal and external sources to prepare accurate and competitive quotes.
- Determine equipment requirements and understand equipment rates to ensure efficient use of resources for each job.
- Prepares comprehensive bid packages that align with customer specifications and deadlines.
- Proofread and review quotes for accuracy and clarity before submission to customers or internal teams
- Collaborate with internal groups to provide relevant estimates and updates for ongoing projects.
- Source multiple quotes from external vendors for materials and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timeliness.
- Generate a list of raw material requirements during the estimating phase, to ensure the timely sourcing and delivery of all necessary components for each product.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating, cost analysis, or a related role within a production, manufacturing, or graphic arts environment.
- Familiarity with industry-specific materials, equipment, and processes is highly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with a focus on Excel or Access for data management and analysis; experience with estimating or project management software is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented and able to assess complex job specifications data to make informed decisions.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Work is performed in an administrative office setting.
- Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary.
