- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for multifamily and commercial construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for cost estimating.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine project scope, materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Provide timely and competitive bids for new projects, ensuring all costs are considered and accurately estimated.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure they align with project specifications and budget.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, including the review and submission of proposals to clients.
- Manage multiple estimates for different types of commercial and multifamily projects simultaneously.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, material costs, labor rates, and industry best practices.
- Work closely with the procurement team to assist in sourcing materials and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
- Provide cost support during the project lifecycle, including value engineering, cost forecasting, and change orders.
- Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in multifamily construction, with a strong focus on commercial projects.
- Proven experience with estimating software (e.g., Procore, Timberline, Sage, etc.).
- Strong understanding of construction costs, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and commercial construction practices in the Bay Area.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
