In addition, this role personally develops and delivers code modules, stable application systems, and integrated enterprise software solutions within various computing environments.Job Summary

Store Inventory Management System and accompanying processes helps Lowe’s to meet customer and associate needs by delivering accurate item count, location on the store and ensure the stores have our products stocked on the selling shelf and available for customers to purchase.The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong technical background in software engineering. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development by provide consultation and technical direction on translating business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, facilitating the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications, scalability, reliability, and security of our software solutions while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team. This role serves as a technical expert for project teams throughout the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions. In addition, this role personally develops and delivers code modules, stable application systems, and integrated enterprise software solutions within various computing environments.What You’ll Do:
  • Build API and data streaming services using technologies and languages including but not limited to: Java, Spring Boot, Reactive Microservices using Spring Web Flux/Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Spring Cloud Data Flow.
  • Deploy the applications to Lowe’s hosted data centers or the cloud using technologies and languages including but not limited to: Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Build the service monitoring and business metrics dashboard using technologies and languages including but not limited to: Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana.
  • Collaborate with business and product stakeholders and other engineering teams to deliver well-architected and well-documented software solutions.
  • Foster a culture of designing scalable architecture that anticipates future requirements.
  • Guide the team in making informed design decisions and identifying the best technologies.
  • Ensure code quality, infrastructure standards, and functionality meet the highest standards.
  • Take ownership of production issues and lead recovery efforts.
  • Mentor and develop talent within the team while identifying and addressing technical debt.
  • Cultivate a culture of Automated Testing, Operation Excellence within the team.
  • Educate team members on performance metrics and cultivate a culture of performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with security and operations teams to design and implement robust software solutions.
  • Ensure the application can handle increased volumes and maintain performance metrics.

  • Demonstrated the ability to deliver quality, well-documented code.
  • Able to lead software projects and mentor more Junior and Senior engineers within the team.
  • Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance and Architectural guidance to your team.
  • Demonstrate software solutions to technical leaders and business/product stakeholders.
Where You’ll Be:
  • Associates are required to relocate to the Charlotte region to foster collaboration and facilitate improved testing and support.
  • Lowe’s supports a Flex Office concept where in-person work is required two days per week at the Charlotte Tech Hub.
  • Most business meetings are planned around the Eastern time zone.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)
  • 7 years of IT hands-on experience in building enterprise software using Java in the space of Enterprise application.
  • 7 years of expertise with Core Java, design patterns, and advanced data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of relevant experience developing robust, highly available, high-performance distributed systems.
  • 4 years of experience with Messaging/Event Streaming technologies such as Kafka/MQ.
  • 4 years of experience in developing with Spring MVC framework, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring reactive, Spring Data JPA. Good knowledge of Spring Security is required.
  • 4 years of experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.
  • 4 years of experience in creating, and executing automation test scripts, code review process.
  • 3 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
  • 3 years of experience with GCP, Azure Cloud, or any other cloud technology.
  • Strong understanding of software testing, infrastructure, operations, security, and performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team towards achieving common goals.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
  • 8 years of IT experience developing and implementing business systems within an organization
  • 6 years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software
  • 6 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software development environment
  • 6 years of experience working with source code control systems
  • 6 years of experience working with Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment tools
  • 6 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high level design for complex solutions
  • 4 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
  • 4 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports
