Job Title: Sr. Project Engineer (Process Automation)Department: Advanced ManufacturingReports to: Molding Engineering ManagerLocation: Little Rock, ARSummary:The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and supervising all aspects of control systems, as well as automation equipment, and machinery. The incumbent provides installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Commissions innovative new production and automation systems.
  • Designs automation systems in Operations.
  • Confirms systems and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods.
  • Assures product quality by designing testing methods.
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Leads training of programming, automation performance and operating procedures.
  • Evaluates cost effectiveness of future projects and report findings.
  • Implements solutions to continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of applicable norms and codes relevant to the position.
  • Technical knowledge of PLC based hardware and software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering or equivalent.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years relevant experience.
  • Strong robotics and automated controls experience.
  • Budget management experience advantageous.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
  • Exposure to machine noise.
  • Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production area.
  • Working conditions are normal for a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment.
  • Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
  • This role may require walking in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment.
