- Develop and verify relay settings for protective relays in substations and industrial power systems
- Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, equipment evaluation, and coordination studies
- Analyze time-current curves and develop protection philosophies in alignment with client standards
- Use tools such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or ASPEN to model electrical systems and generate study results
- Prepare and review one-line diagrams, protection schematics, and device coordination
- Collaborate with substation and P&C teams to integrate study results into project designs
- Document analysis, methodologies, and recommendations in technical reports
- Provide field support for commissioning, data gathering, or troubleshooting as needed (up to 15% travel)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing system studies and/or protection-related engineering
- Experience with ETAP, SKM, ASPEN, or similar software required
- Understanding of relay types, protection schemes, and coordination methods
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC, NEC, NETA)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- FE exam passed or in progress
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
