- Support a Culture of Continuous Improvement in Safety, including leading by example by always following safety policies, procedures and proper PPE, and conducting planned inspections of designated area on a bi-monthly basis.
- Build a strong working relationship with the union leadership.
- Assist the management team with preparations for college recruiting events and intern and/or co-op programs.
- Support the recruitment and screening process for qualified hourly and salaried candidates to ensure adequate staffing for effective and efficient operations. This includes full circle recruiting activities, placing ads in compliance with Affirmative Action efforts, composing position descriptions, developing and delivering state of the art on-boarding processes to reduce training time, and improve employee retention.
- Defined pre-boarding and onboarding programs to build excitement and prepare employees for success.
- Support training initiatives for both hourly and salaried employees.
- Maintain records in Mativ Central, keeping all employment records current
- Maintaining attendance records.
- Promote collaborative work, knowledge and best practice sharing with active experimentation.
- Support a diverse and inclusive workforce which is representative of the communities in which we operate.
- Cultivate a work environment based on two-way communication.
- Standardize people related policies, processes, procedures and execution where it adds the most value.Possess broad knowledge and understanding of the business to assess and drive organizational changes
- Drive continuous improvement of human resource functions (i.e. staffing & recruiting, budgets, compensation administration, policy administration, employee relations, organizational development, change management, etc.)
- Responsible for tracking and reporting HR metrics; utilize and communicate people related data in a meaningful and action-oriented way.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or a related field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of progressive experience in HR, Safety or related field
- Employee and Labor Relations experience, including demonstrated ability to conduct employee investigations
- Proven leadership, coaching, relationship building and effective conflict resolution skills
- Proven ability to effectively integrate into an existing leadership team
- Possess interpersonal skills that allow the employee to successfully influence both hourly and salaried employees
- Experience working in manufacturing
- Thorough working knowledge of HR and labor laws, including but not limited to: Title VII, ADAAA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.
- Proficiency utilizing HRIS and applicant tracking systems
- Strong business acumen, communication and presentation skills
- A high degree of integrity, confidentiality and organizational sensitivity
- Highly organized and proactive in project management and execution; ensuring timely delivery of projects to a high standard
- Excellent communication and consulting skills with the ability to engage, motivate and influence stakeholders; the ability to interface with all levels of the organization
- Intellectually curious, proactive and highly adaptable self-starter. Comfortable working to sometimes short deadlines and often with changing and competing priorities.
