Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Histology Technician performs routine and technical procedures as directed by pathologist. Maintains pre-determined quality standards in testing. Ensures the Laboratory is in compliance with CLIA88 with regard to patient test management by having in place an adequate system to report results in a timely, accurate, reliable and confidential manner and ensure patient confidentiality throughout those parts of the total testing process that are under the Laboratory’s control.Education: Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program and Board-Certified HT(ASCP)Licensure/Certification: HT (ASCP) preferred, or HT (ASCP) required to obtain within one year of hire.Experience: Previous experience in a health system of similar size is preferred.Skills: Must have excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.ORFunctioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Histology Technician performs routine and technical procedures as directed by pathologist.
