- Maintains a high degree of discipline within testing area in order to maintain appropriate testing environment.
- Is accountable for cleanliness, which includes materials and equipment left in an organized manner at the completion of the test period.
- Participates in student performance evaluation panels, education meetings or other student-staff-oriented functions.
- Conducts workshops to assist instructors for classroom remediation
- Meets with the Academic Training Manager, and Academic Instructors to discuss new trends, techniques, and problems with the learning gains.
- Sets up and performs a continuous TABE Testing schedule that includes initial test on all students. Follow-up tests will be given in accordance with TABE test policies.
- Makes recommendations to supervisor on improvements in their subject areas. Sets up and performs a continuous testing schedule that includes courses needed for GED testing.
- Oversee the accommodation process by reviewing job corps applicant files for possible health, mental health, physical, drug and alcohol or education accommodations.
- Identify if accommodations are needed and reasonable ensuring the process is thorough and appropriate.
- Conducts an assessment of disabled student's CTT and recreational offerings and evaluates effectiveness of program to meet the needs of disabled students.
- Set up and accurately maintain accommodation files. Monitor, track and follow up on the effectiveness of accommodations.
- Provides alternative methods for test administration.
- Respond to special requests from all departments.
- Meet with all new students to discuss the Disability program.
- Ensure that the student handbook has information on the Disability program.
- Conduct training for all staff at least annually.
- Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits, as well as assists disabled students in handling special problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel.
- Computer Literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of testing practices for students.
- Knowledge of counseling students with disabilities.
- High level of communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of patience and compassion for students.
- Valid State Driver's License
