Job Title: FVP, TraderLocation: CA - Westlake VillageWhat you'll do: The FVP, Trader (Bulk Desk) reports directly to the Head of Capital Markets and will lead the team responsible for executing the firm’s initiatives for the bulk acquisition channel. Primary responsibilities include managing operational workflows, monitoring and reporting on day-to-day purchase activity, and trade level communication with clients. This is a management position, will have direct reports, and is an opportunity to work in a high-volume production channel for the top bank owned originator in the country.
  • Oversee the day-to-day bulk desk trading activities. Monitor incoming bid tapes to ensure they are processed and priced correctly. Managing to volume and margin targets set by the firm. Ensure trade confirmations and pricing updates are accurate. Daily and monthly management reporting on production totals.
  • Analyze bid and margin performance daily recommending changes to maximize company volume and revenue. Work with internal and external groups such as internal sales, clients, vendors, and pricing engines.
  • Lead and develop a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development.
What you'll need:
  • 5+ years of related experience or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending, including sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced experience with Excel, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, etc. Experience with SQL is a plus.
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multi-task and adhere to firm deadlines in critical.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification preferred.
  • Occasional travel required.
Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $193,955.00 - $239,591.00 for Westlake Village, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location.
