  • Provides direction for monitoring all program phases to integrate existing and future systems into new business systems, including identifying, acquiring, and allocating resources; ensuring timely delivery; staying within budget constraints and effectively evaluating projects and programs.
  • Formulates short and long-range program policies, strategies, and objectives for the implementation of assigned program areas.
  • Establishes wide-spread program objectives and methods to ensure the tax administration business mission, goals, and objectives of the IRS and Treasury are met.
  • Expert knowledge of Information Technology principles, concepts, and methods sufficient to provide technical direction to subordinate IT Specialists.
  • Knowledge of the Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) process is required to provide program area budget oversight.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT skill sets (programming languages, platform expertise, etc.) needed for development and maintenance of software applications to support the IRS mission.
