Job Title: Pathologist Assistant
Location: Saranac Lake, NY 12983
Shift Schedule: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible extension depending on business needs)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Pay Range: $80/hr – $100 per hour on a W2Responsibilities:
Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens following standard protocols.
Prepare tissue specimens for histological processing.
Assist with and conduct autopsies, including evisceration and dissection.
Document macroscopic descriptions and clinical information accurately.
Collaborate with pathologists, histotechnologists, and other lab personnel to ensure quality and timely processing.
Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with lab safety regulations.
Support quality assurance activities and contribute to continuous improvement of lab practices.
Ensure proper specimen labeling, tracking, and documentation in lab systems.
Uphold patient confidentiality and all HIPAA guidelines.Skills/Experience Needed:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pathologist Assistant – Required
Experience in Surgical Pathology, Histology, Cytology, General, and Autopsy Pathology – Required
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skillsEducation:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program – RequiredCertifications:
Active New York State Pathologist Assistant License – Required
COVID-19 Vaccination per facility policy – Required
