We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.Where and how you can workOur flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations.About the rolesWe currently have two opportunities for Corporate Accounting Managers, across a number of focus areas outlined below:You'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the monthly and quarterly close processes for the operational accounting team. You'll focus on all key balance sheet accounts including leases, intangible assets and PPE, supporting all change management and policies that safeguard our general ledger and financial reporting structures in this space.Another focus is overseeing all aspects of the monthly and quarterly close processes for the operational accounting team. You'll focus on all intercompany eliminations as well as facilitating tax accounting and local GAAP adjustments and eliminations. You'll also support all change management and policies that safeguard our general ledger and financial reporting structures in this space.A third focus area if overseeing all of general ledger controllership and facilitation of the close process for the Finance Operations and Accounting teams. You'll focus on all reporting structure and system integration requirements both up and downstream to the accounting close process and ERP. You'll oversee the design and change management of all processes and policies that safeguard our general ledger and financial reporting structures in this space.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting Lead (of the distinct focus areas), you'll play a pivotal role in evolving Canva's capabilities in this space, while ensuring that our processes and policies support the scale and complexity of a rapidly-expanding company.What you'd be doing in this roleAs Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.At the moment, this role is focused on:
  • Executing timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close processes in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant standards.
  • Supporting the development and help to maintain effective internal controls to safeguard our accounting and close processes and enhance the reliability of financial information.
  • Identifying process improvements and recommendations to support the completeness and accuracy of corporate accounting processes, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the team.
  • Supporting collaboration across departments to enhance cross-functional understanding of financial processes and outcomes.
  • Streamlining and optimizing financial processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identifying opportunities for system enhancements and leading implementation efforts to ensure the scalability of financial operations.

  • You are a strategic Corporate Accounting Manager with strong technical expertise, operational skills, and a proven record of successfully developing and scaling accounting processes.
  • You have demonstrated success in leading Corporate Accounting operations function through rapid growth in a public company environment, with a proven ability to execute effective strategies.
  • You are a strong team player with a proven track record of thriving in high-performing teams and continuously supporting a culture of growth and development through knowledge sharing and finding innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you are able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and effectively navigate competing priorities.
  • You play a key role as a subject matter expert to support effective collaboration with cross functional teams and help drive business process transformation and change management.
  • You have extensive experience in establishing and standardizing policies, processes, procedures and controls that are SOX compliant.
  • You have proficiency in financial software and systems; experience with ERP systems is a plus

The target salary range for this position is $161,000 - $206,000.
