  • The candidate will have responsibility for the following in addition to ad hoc assignments as needed.
  • Work closely with marketing and customers to define requirements for HVAC systems.
  • Executing the role of a systems engineer in the product development processes
  • Work closely with hardware, firmware, software, validation/reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Make decisions on tradeoffs in product design between hardware and firmware/software.
  • Capture requirements, write specifications, define test plans for system verification and validation.
  • Actively participate in the project planning process (e.G., estimates for project plan tasks, resources, completion time, capital requirements, risks, expenses, etc.)
  • Lead and participate in software DFMEAs
  • Balance sustaining and new product development projects
  • Document systems and functional requirements
  • Help define the systems architecture for new products.
  • Develop systems-level test cases/plans
  • Participate in risk identification reviews
  • Demonstrates the ability to work within a project team
  • Define system architecture and interfaces;drive alignment across hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing.
  • Establish V&V strategy (SIL/HIL), reliability criteria, and release gates;ensure compliance with internal standards.
  • Lead risk management across the lifecycle (DFMEA/FTA) and make architecture trade-offs (cost, schedule, security, safety).
  • Represent systems engineering in design/phase-gate reviews;influence stakeholders within and outside the function.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Leads small to mid-size projects or multiple complex tasks within functional discipline
  • Makes significant contribution by applying advanced systems knowledge;mentors others
  • Works with limited oversight on projects with broader business impact
TYPICAL EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Controls EngineeringKEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 7+ years of systems engineering experience with embedded products
  • Expertise with requirements management (DOORS/Azure DevOps), configuration control, and change management
  • Demonstrated leadership of system architecture for connected products (cloud/mobile integration, OTA)
  • Deep experience with HIL/SIL test strategies, instrumentation, and automation
  • Fluency in DFMEA and reliability engineering methods;cyber security and safety considerations
  • Working knowledge of C/C++;ability to guide implementation trade-offs
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership and communication skills
  • Digital and analog electronic products
  • Controls Systems/Algorithm Design experience (a plus)
