  • Finance and Business Operations (FBO): Drive financial performance for critical business areas across the organization such as Transmission & Distribution, Generation, Information Technology, and more. Assist in budget and forecast variance analysis, customer savings opportunities, and help identify potential efficiencies towards improved processes.
  • Treasury Operations: Support cash flow analysis, investment tracking, and debt management activities.
Interns may also participate in cross-functional projects, including sustainability reporting, rate case modeling, and economic impact studies. Assignments are designed to develop core competencies in financial analysis, data interpretation, and business communication.This paid temporary full-time internship spans 10 weeks during the summer. Interns receive mentorship, professional development, opportunities for site visits, networking, and more.Minimum Requirements
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate degree program.
  • Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Involvement with campus finance clubs or organizations.
Major Accountabilities1) Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.2) Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.3) Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.4) Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.5) Performs other related duties as required.Export Compliance / EEO StatementThis position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, 'U.S. Export Control Laws'). This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:
  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.
*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
