Fiserv is looking for a talented Systems Engineer Senior to provide technical systems support, manage/troubleshoot, and identify technology needs like cloud migration etc. You will participate in the design of information and operational support systems and be part of a talented team of engineers that maintain mission critical infrastructure and ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. This role is crucial to capacity planning, tuning systems stability, provisioning, performance, and scaling of the application infrastructure.What you'll do:
- Manage and monitor all installed systems & infrastructure and test application performance for potential bottlenecks - identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement those fixes
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, and maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
- Provide L2 and L3 level support; liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Create Tufin requests and provide hands-on support for existing environments to include performance of the following related tasks: software installation, upgrades, query writing, configuration, security, system monitoring and tuning, disaster recovery planning, and release deployments
- Automate and evolve deployment strategies and testing to support a quick turnaround of deployments; work closely with Engineering to ensure all relevant KPI’s are implemented within the monitoring framework
- Participate in all Production Support activities during incidents and outages, resolving technical issues and making recommendations for application performance and capacity improvements
- 5+ years of IT experience in a technical application production support role installing, configuring and troubleshooting in a Linux or Windows environment
- 5+ years of experience with load balancers, routers, packet capture, capturing thread dump and analysis
- Strong knowledge and experience in certificates, TLS, SSL and must have experience with or familiarity with software and security architectures
- Experience in Windows/Linux based environments and in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.,IIS, Weblogic, Apache)
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python), experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware) and monitoring systems like Dynatrace, Splunk, and ExtraHop
- Experience with software deployment methods for applications, patches, and operating systems.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- .NET programming experience
- Networking: understanding of routing and networking concepts
- Cloud knowledge and/or experience, preferably in AWS
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Collaboration platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, Wiki, ServiceNow
