- Attention to detail, with the ability to create a quality and accurate electrical design and drawing set.
- One or more years of experience in CAD design and production of electrical design documents
- Proficient in SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical with direction from upper management
- Some working knowledge of electrical control schematics and wiring diagrams for motor controls, and process control
- Familiarity with design/layout of PLC Panels, enclosures, logic and I/O components, wiring, wiring duct, HMIs, wiring, terminal blocks, and other equipment
- Some ability to read and understand schematic drawings, one line, and electrical data sheets
- Must have some understanding of conceptual and design process skills and good problem-solving ability
- Capable of recognizing conflicts and discrepancies in a panel layout and/or schematic drawing with help from upper management
- The ability to follow directions is key, both verbal and written
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly with others, both verbally and in writing, and not be hesitant to ask questions and seek direction
- Familiarity with control panel layout, UL 508/A standards, PLCs, and network
- Assist in the development of panel layouts in 2D drawings from sketches provided by engineers and senior design staff
- Assist in the preparation of panel details for quote/bid, with the project engineer's or project manager's guidance
- Recognize and communicate design conflicts and/or changes promptly
- Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements to produce drawings
- Ability to accurately estimate time completion of assigned tasks
- Assist in the quality checking of your drafted product and conformance with drawing production requirements
- Support other designers to meet project goals and deadlines

- A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is strongly preferred
- An associate's degree in computer-Aided Drafting, Applied Science, or related technical education is preferred
- At least 1-3 years of experience in conduit schedules and layout work, cable tray schedules and layout work, schematics, power one-lines, and field verification and auditing experience
- Experience with engineering, manufacturing, and/or oil and gas environments is strongly preferred.
- Must have Solidworks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical experience.
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems promptly.
- Must be able to handle several tasks with confidence.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
- Strong computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based programs are required.
- Help to perform all aspects of the design and drafting of electrical assignments using experience, knowledge, and practical design methods
- Knowledge of basic drafting skills is strongly preferred
- Develop neat, well-organized drawings meeting established standards
- Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based programs is required
- Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities
