- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Tate & Lyle Best Practice EHSQS regulations and standards
- Manage Contractor Safety Program
- Manage Site Security Program
- Lead continuous improvement of Safety performance including:
- Risk/Injury reductions
- Job safety analysis
- Ergonomics
- Emergency Preparedness
- Security functions
- Own Element(s) of the EHSQS Management System
- Manage Compliance Calendar tasks as assigned
- Lead contractor safety teams, coordinate training, perform audits and inspections
- Provide timely reports to EHS manager, site management and Tate & Lyle corporate
- Integration of EHSQS standards applicable to new and existing equipment and processes
- Lead Incident Investigations for contractors, participate in employee investigations
- Provide Safety Support to supervisors and hourly workforce
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (Global EHSQS guidance)
- Active positive promotion of J2EE & EHSQS
- Develop and establish an effective contractor safety program that will yield year-on-year reductions in incident rates.
- Work with site management and corporate safety to create/develop contractor safety culture
- Provide technical assistance in helping with the resolution of safety issues
- Assist and participate with department and site-wide safety teams.
- Inspect, audit and monitor equipment, work areas and work practices and procedures for compliance with established health and safety rules and regulations.
- Assist in identifying, preventing, recommending control measures and eliminating safety hazards.
- Develop security SOPs as needed
- Participate in safety & industrial hygiene reviews, routine safety inspections and incident investigations, making appropriate recommendations.
- Maintain accurate contractor safety statistics and report timely to corporate safety
- Be part of the T&L Network Safety Committee and be the conduit for communication and information between the plant and the committee. Lead the roll out of new contractor and security initiatives
- Ability to focus on details and understand the overall impact of events and decisions.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong Computer Skills (database, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.) and able to analyze data for trends and accurate reporting.
- Ability to effectively motivate people and to enlist needed cooperation in implementing effective safety programs.

- This position requires the ability to safely perform the following tasks:
