Responsible for pharmacy operations in acute care facilities.Location: 4000 Lakeland Highlands RoadLakeland, Florida 33812ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions
- Leads the department and facilitates collaborative implementation of all department, facility and organizational action plans to achieve the strategic objectives of Orlando Health.
- Demonstrates exemplary communication skills with all audiences.
- Consistently demonstrates strong technical and interpersonal skills when making decision that affect the department and the customers of the department.
- Oversees pharmacy staff practice, personnel management and staff development.
- Responsible for all aspects of business, including developing and managing operational budgets, monitoring expense rends and ensuring business models allow the department to exceed established performance standards.
- Ensures department maintains compliance with all regulatory, legislative, legal, educational and technical issues related to pharmacy practice within facility.
- Builds effective relationships with all Hospital Operations Manager Peers to achieve the strategic goals and objectives of the facility and Orlando Health.
- Participates as a member of selected Corporate and Facility committees to advance safe medication practices throughout the organization.
- Seeks improvement in safe medication practices at every opportunity.
- Remains actively engaged in the Emergency Preparedness activities of the facility and Orlando Health
- Effectively manage the change process.
- Must maintain a current and working knowledge of the technology forces that impact hospital-based pharmacy services.
- Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Maintains ultimate responsibility for the quality of the medication use process within the facility.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Pharmacy degree (Bachelor or PharmD) is required.Licensure/Certification
Must be licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy (renewed every two years) or must obtain license within 6 months of hire, and be
licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy as a consultant Pharmacist.Experience
Three (3) years of experience in hospital pharmacy with experience in management or supervision required. Must command thorough
knowledge of hospital management practices and pharmacy laws
