We invite you to apply to be a part of our University community!Job DescriptionThe Department of Economics & Finance in the College of Business at Idaho State University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Economics in the field econometrics and/or data analytics beginning August 2026.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in face-to-face or online modes as needed by the department, conduct field-related research leading to publications in peer-reviewed scholarly journals, and engage in service-related activities. Teaching load requirements are three courses in each Spring and Fall semester. It is anticipated the individual filling this role will teach Econometrics at least once a year and Data Analytics at least once per semester, with the balance of the teaching load to be section(s) of Principles of Macroeconomics and/or Microeconomics The candidate will be required to maintain AACSB academic qualifications as a Scholarly Academic.Minimum QualificationsThe successful candidate will have earned, or be close to completing, a doctorate in Economics (PhD) or related field (i.e. Agricultural Economics) by the time of hire, with an emphasis in econometrics and/or data analytics. Candidates seeking to be hired at the rank of Associate Professor must have a minimum of 6 years of experience at the Assistant Professor rank, evidence of teaching excellence, and evidence of scholarly achievement.Preferred QualificationsA highly qualified candidate will demonstrate the ability to successfully teach students from broad backgrounds and possess a willingness to engage with students both in and out of the classroom. A highly qualified candidate will also have the desire to live in the Intermountain West and teach at a regional-serving institution of first access.
