Job Title: Structural EngineerJob DescriptionDesign and analyze structural components for bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure. Prepare construction documents and specifications. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with municipal agencies. Conduct site visits and inspections as needed. Participate in client meetings and maintain strong client relationships. Work on IDOT-funded projects and ensure compliance with relevant standards.Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze structural components for various infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare detailed construction documents and specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for project success.
  • Coordinate with municipal agencies to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct site visits and perform inspections as required.
  • Participate in client meetings and foster strong client relationships.
  • Work on IDOT-funded projects, ensuring adherence to relevant standards.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in structural design and analysis.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
  • Knowledge in the design and construction of bridges, buildings, and other structures.
  • Experience with IDOT projects and standards.
  • Strong foundation from combined education and professional experience in structural design of various structures (vertical or horizontal)
  • Understanding of civil and structural engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis, drainage, and concrete design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with relevant structural engineering courses.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a consulting engineering firm focused on structural work.
  • Motivation to become a licensed Structural Engineer.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment consists of a small office with 2 employees in Champaign, IL , creating a close-knit and collaborative atmosphere. The role is primarily office-based (90%), with the remaining 10% spent in the field conducting inspections of bridges or buildings. The position offers a hybrid work model, allowing 2-3 days of remote work each week.
