An iMPact Business Group client in the Material Handling industry is seek an experienced Solutions Engineer / Designer for Material Handling systems.*** Please Note: This is a contract-to-hire role and only Candidates who can be hired with no Visa sponsorship requirements will be considered ***The Solutions Engineer / Designer is responsible for interpreting customer requirements and designing integrated automation solutions for Warehouse automation. This role will participate in pre-sales efforts, collaborates on system estimation, and produces foundational design documents for successful project handoff. This role also validates conceptual designs against deployment environments and integration layers for new / updated warehouse automation solutions.This role is based at the Corporate HQ in New Jersey and will also involve travel to Customer locations (approx. 35%). This firm also has facilities in Plano, TX and will consider Candidates located there.This role is for someone with strong team collaboration skills, a focus on providing top notch customer service, and a passion for designing and implementing material handling solutions that involve modern technologies integrated with a variety of robotic, conveyor, and other material handling hardware.Responsibilities:
  • Lead Customer discovery and workflow definition sessions
  • Translate customer goals into scalable, technically sound solution designs
  • Create and validate layout drawings, equipment specifications, and integration plans
  • Perform throughput modeling and evaluate design tradeoffs across space, speed, and cost
  • Collaborate with estimating to define costs and generate ROI comparisons
  • Own the technical portion of SOW, SFS, system architecture, and data flow documentation
  • Present technical concepts to customers during pre-sales reviews and proposal walkthroughs
  • Review proposed solution against known integration and deployment constraints
  • Interface with project managers, software engineers, controls engineers, and customers
  • BS in Engineering, Systems Design, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in warehouse automation, material handling, or robotics
  • Familiarity with ASRS, WMS/WES/WCS systems, UCI protocols, and automation interfaces
  • Ability to interpret, simulate, and model operational throughput
  • Strong documentation and technical presentation skills
  • Ability to produce solution layouts using AutoCAD or equivalent tools
  • Willingness to travel for site visits, design reviews, or technical support (up to 35%)
