Contingent on client approval.The Senior Engineer's purpose is to solve technical problems, develop applicable documentation, and supervise all assigned resources to support the assigned project. The Senior Engineer assists the engineering organization in determining the technical requirements of the project, defining resource requirements to achieve schedule and budget commitments, and solving technical issues as they arise within the field of competence.
- Work independently in solving technical issues
- Plan, estimate, schedule and monitor assigned work and the work of assigned resources
- Able to track progress, report progress, recommend improvements to budget and schedule, and recommend reductions to budget and schedule
- Capable to facilitate communications of issues and solutions throughout FMM, subcontract, or customers. Capable to mentor team members in effective communication techniques.
- Capable to prepare, check and issue professional quality deliverables, mentor team members on improving performance deliverables, and mentor subcontract on improving performance of deliverables
- Capable of interpreting contract requirements, applying to functional assignments, and able to mentor team members and subcontract in their understanding
- Skilled to identify and develop contract change documents to support the project needs. Capable to mentor fellow team members and subcontractors.
- Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures. Mentor fellow team members and subcontractors in development, explanation, and guidance of policies and procedures.
- Capable to lead or participate in product improvement projects and working groups
- Proficient to define, track, monitor, and provide direction for subcontract activities.
- Able to define, track and control subcontractor activities
- Effectively supervise and mentor assigned resources during onboarding, skill development, or projects.
The Senior Engineer also demonstrates leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the Company. The Senior Engineer may directly mentor or supervise 2 to 10 employees. Mentoring and supervisory responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. An Engineer II may be included with interviewing potential new team members and training employees. With supervising, this may include planning, assigning, and directing work of assigned individuals, participating in the appraising performance, addressing complaints with development opportunities, and resolving problems.LABOR CATEGORY - QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and 6 years of experience of increasing responsibility in the engineering field of competence.
- This requirement can also be met with an Associate's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and 8 years of experience of increasing responsibility in the engineering field of competence, or a High School Diploma or GED and 9 years of experience of increasing responsibility in the engineering field of competence.
- Supervisory experience desired.
- Six Sigma or LEAN training desired.
- Must have experience with naval systems, proven by verifiable and specific work experience, technical publication, or patent issue.
- Must have a working knowledge of standard shipbuilding rules and regulations, as well as the associated regulatory agencies and the review & approval process.
- Must have current computer skills relevant to the field of competence.
- Be familiar with EPLA or ETAP
- Strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills
- Strong 3D AutoCAD Modeling and processing skills comprised of the following:
- Multiple layout drawings
- 100+ tab drawings
- Viewport manipulation
- Layer management
- 3-D clipping
- Solids creation / manipulation
- Blocks

- Serve as an engineering point of contact between design disciplines, program management, planning, production, quality assurance, and the customer (U.S. Navy, Saudi Navy).
- Track, manage, and report the progress of engineering deliverables and technical packages aligned with program milestones.
- Coordinate resolution of technical issues across disciplines (structural, electrical, mechanical, combat systems) to maintain program schedule and compliance.
- Participate in integrated product teams (IPTs), design reviews, technical interface meetings, and cross-department coordination for MMSC and FFG(X).Interface with NAVSEA, NAVWAR, shipyard stakeholders, and international customer representatives to resolve comments, manage clarifications, and negotiate technical solutions.
- Drive closure of model comment review items, engineering change proposals (ECPs), and drawing reviews.
- Support test planning, integration, and trials readiness from an engineering perspective.
- Support risk management by identifying technical risks and developing mitigation plans.
- Assist in transition of engineering design to production, ensuring manufacturability and supportability.
- B.S. in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in naval ship design, construction, or lifecycle support;
- Prior experience on major shipbuilding programs is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with shipbuilding standards, including MIL-STDs, ABS Naval Vessel Rules, IEEE, and NAVSEA specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, design models (e.g., using ShipConstructor or AVEVA), and interface control documents.
- Strong project management skills including scheduling, resource tracking, and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills-written and verbal-with the ability to brief senior leadership and customers clearly and concisely.
- Active DoD Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Prior experience working on international programs (e.g., FMS MMSC) and/or U.S. Navy platforms.
- Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items, engineering change process (ECP/PCO), and Configuration Management principles.
- Experience with DOORS, Teamcenter, or similar PLM/requirements management tools.
- PMP or DAWIA Certification a plus.
