
Fire Assessment Program Analyst

- Provide on-site representation to serve as a technical and subject matter specialist applying professional engineering knowledge and concepts in support of initiatives associated with damage control maintenance, repair, and modernization of U.S. Navy surface ships.
- Provide assessment team lead services to coordinate internal event support, track upcoming event schedule, and assign members to support specific events as needed by the government.
- Create a record of significant events to allow governmental data and trend analysis of training and casualty events.
- Plan and execute all aspects of Damage Control Fire Safety Program inspections aboard all surface combatant platforms, including monitoring enforcement of Naval Safety Standards, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) and Hazardous Waste (HAZWASTE) stowage, analyzing watch bills for compliance to established standards and overall sustainment and enforcement of the CNSL FSAP Damage Control program.
- Coordinate scheduling of Fire Assessment events with partner commands via on-site in person meetings, telephone, and electronic correspondence.
- Provide technical review and approval based on government provided parameters to Damage Control drill packages based on government provided guidance and knowledge of Navy Damage Control publications, including but not limited to NAVSEA Technical Publication, Industrial Ship Safety Manual for Fire Prevention and Response (S0570-AC-CCM-010/8010) (NAVSEA 8010) and Damage Control related Navy Standard Technical Manuals (NSTMs).
- Provide initial review and guidance to U.S. Navy surface ships in submission of NAVSEA 8010 deviations and COMNAVSURFPAC/COMNAVSURFLANT 3504.1(Series) Maintenance Redlines waivers and provide documentation and recommendations to government representative for final adjudication and data analysis.
- Review and log UNCLASSIFIED Naval message traffic for relevant Damage Control messages for summary, distribution, follow-up government action, and data/trend analysis. Provide draft correspondence as needed.
- Provide subject matter expertise as command representative both in person and via MS Teams meetings on Damage Control technical working groups on material and policy, to include but not limited to conventional DC equipment; chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) equipment; and CNSP/CNSL DC policy.
- Provide electronic weekly summary report of completed actions and running totals of key events as defined by the government.
- Provide basic level SharePoint page administration to ensure up to date references and links are on the government site, no certification required.
- Track, report and submit Electronic Advisory Record Repository and Tracking System (eARRTs) as needed, but no more than weekly.
- Provide semi-annual DC update articles for government publishing to the Fleet at government direction.
- Provide technical guidance recommendations to CNSL N45, Force Damage Control Officer, Program Managers, and surface ships in compliance with all CNSP/CNSL instructions and policies for Shipboard Damage Control and Firefighting Systems, specifically ships in maintenance availability.
- Provide on-site subject matter expert response to in-person, telephone or e-mail inquiries or concerns regarding the CNSP/CNSL Fire Safety Assessment Program during normal office hours if not already engaged in out of office CNSP/CNSL Fire Safety Assessment Program matters.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Eight (8) years of Navy Damage Control/Firefighting Experience required.
- Two (2) years experience working with NAVSEA Technical Publication, Industrial Ship Safety Manual for Fire Prevention and Response (S0570-AC-CCM-010/8010).
- Proficient with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite.
