  • The Associate Network Administrator is responsible for ensuring the organization's Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure and related systems are well maintained and operate reliably and securely.
  • This role will perform regular systems and security monitoring, provisioning, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • The Associate Network Administrator will perform administration, operations, maintenance, and support of WAN infrastructure, routers, firewalls, Ethernet switches, and related systems.
  • They are also responsible for following relevant processes, procedures, and standards. Additionally, the Associate Network Administrator will provide technical support for assigned systems within their organization and outside customers as needed.
  • They also handle patches and upgrades to ensure that systems are maximally efficient, effective, and secure.
Required Skills:
  • Network device configuration fundamentals
  • Network troubleshooting fundamentals
  • IPv4 Subnetting
  • IPv4 addressing and address schema
  • Basic network services include SSH, DNS, DHCP, NTP, and LDAP
  • Cybersecurity fundamentals
  • IT Industry Terminology
  • IT troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques
  • Effective oral and written communication
Desired skills:
  • Cisco router/switch/firewall
  • Juniper router/switch/firewall
  • Network layer 3 configuration
  • Network layer 3 troubleshooting
  • BGP routing protocol
  • OSPF routing protocol
  • Firewall administration (Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto)
  • VPN systems and RAVPN
  • IT Production network experience
Minimum Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct, relevant professional work experience.
  • Security+ certification
OR
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field from a nationally accredited educational institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of direct, relevant professional work experience.
  • Security+ certification
OR
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field from a nationally accredited educational institution.
  • Security+ certification
Certifications:
  • Security+ certification on hire
  • DoD 8570 IAT II certification within 180 days (Network+, CCNA, etc.)
  • DoD 8750 CSSP-IS certification within 60 days (CEH, CySA+, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Ability to climb, kneel, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift up to 20+ lbs.
  • MUST possess a DoD interim Secret Clearance prior to employment.
  • MUST participate in a 24 x 7 shift rotation.
  • All other duties / responsibilities as assigned.
