  • Coordinates the day-to-day activities involving receiving, storing, packing and shipping of merchandise and materials; assists in preparing work schedules and ensures adequate personnel is available to meet workflow requirements; assists in monitoring workload and productivity of personnel in order to meet department productivity standards; makes recommendations to improve efficiency and productivity activities.
  • Trains personnel as needed; instructs personnel and/or demonstrates appropriate methods and procedures to complete work assignments.
  • Makes recommendations regarding staffing, promotions, terminations, performance reviews and training personnel for assigned area.
  • Assists Supervisor with Kronos activities, including but not limited to tracking hours and monitoring/approving vacation and sick leave.
Receiving, Sorting and Staging
  • Unloads shipments from trucks utilizing forklift or pallet jack; reads labels to determine designated storage or staging location; combines and separates shipment into individual pallets based on product and/or ship ID numbers; confirms order quantities with packing lists; inputs information into SAP utilizing Viad@t.
  • Utilizes a forklift or reach truck to transport pallets from receiving and production areas to designated storage and staging locations.
Replenishment
  • Identifies products and containers for replenishment; scans containers and transports pallets, utilizing a forklift or reach truck, to designated storage location.
Picking, Packing and SPS Shipping
  • Picks inventory and places in containers; transports to packing lanes; verifies quantity matches with scanner instructions; moves product into final shipping container; labels container to create final shipping unit; confirms into SAP utilizing Viad@t; transports to designated shipping area; ensures orders are accurate and efficient, according to company's established guidelines and standards.
  • Shippers are responsible for making sure all shipments and orders are packed onto trucks according to bills of lading and information is updated in SAP utilizing Viad@t.
  • Scans and picks coils and fittings utilizing order picker according to customer orders.
  • Picks and labels straight lengths; transports to shipping docks utilizing forklift.
  • Operates pallet wrapper in order to prepare pallets for shipping.
  • Assists with packaging of materials for shipping according to specified instructions or customer requirements; ensures all product/shipping labels are legible and accurate.
  • Manually loads bundles onto trucks for shipping, according to computer generated work order and/or verbal instruction.
Put Away
  • Scans pallets and inventory into receiving to determine proper storage location; transports product accordingly utilizing forklift or reach truck.
Returns/Bookings
  • Receives returns; verifies quantities match with documentation; confirms items in SAP utilizing Viad@t; updates and makes notes as necessary; prints and attaches updated labels; returns product to designated storage area.
Record Keeping and Recording
  • Confirms orders in SAP.
  • Maintains appropriate records including but not limited to shift logs, job skills tracking, freight sheets, tracking metrics, etc.
Monitoring Logistic Quality
  • Assists Supervisor with monitoring quality, including but not limited to facility and equipment care, proactive damage control, and pallet quality.
  • Maintains accurate inventory levels; resolves discrepancies as they occur; recognizes the opportunity for error and takes appropriate action to eliminate it.
Cleaning and Area Upkeep
  • Maintains clean work environment; may perform 5S activities (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, and sustain) to organize and manage distribution center.
Other
  • Answers questions and assists DC Team Members as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook, SAP
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems
  • Ability to motivate and lead employees
  • Ability to adhere to quality standards and procedures
  • Ability to read and understand information presented
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, etc.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy or bulky items weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4-5 years of warehouse experience
  • Warehouse Management Systems experience preferred
  • Lean experience preferred
