You'll gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things.What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with plant engineers to develop efficient processes through cycle time studies, create standard work instructions, and develop training materials
  • Identify & implement process improvements that increase output and reduce overall costs
  • Create templates and automated programs to transform data into visual tracking information
  • Support the overall continuous improvement projects of SPX at the Olathe manufacturing Plant
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required Experience and Education
  • Currently Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer/Electrical Engineering
  • Programming experience, preferably in VBA, C+, etc
  • Candidates must have completed their second year of studies
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • High problem-solving skills and self-direction
  • Company will not provide sponsorship of position - must be eligible to work in US
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Technical hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products
Travel & Working Environment
  • Manufacturing Environment frequently requires use of foot, ear and eye protection when in production areas
  • Ability to climb, stoop, crouch and crawl
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25lbs occasionally
