- Designs structures using knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
- Originates structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
- Prepares specifications and related documents
- Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations
- Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for Structural related matters
- Reviews structural drawings and design details
- Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals
- Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines
- Assists in preparation of quantity takeoffs.
- Assists in constructability reviews
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
- Registered Engineer in Training (E.I.T. or equivalent)
- Experience with Microsoft office programs, and other common computer programs
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Working knowledge and application of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, IBC and ASCE 7
- Broad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principles.
- Previous experience using structural analysis software such as GTSTRUDL or STAAD.Pro
- Experience executing engineering and design with Tekla software
- Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide
- Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact
- Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Civil or Structural Engineering)
- Master’s degree in Structural or related Engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Possess active security clearance
- Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense
