
Physical Substation Design Engineer

- Develop physical design packages for substations, including general arrangements, grounding, conduit, cable, and equipment layouts.
- Create and revise detailed drawings using AutoCAD Electrical, including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bill of materials.
- Apply P4A tools to support protection and automation integration, including relay logic and configuration.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and electrical teams to ensure cohesive and compliant designs.
- Specify and select substation equipment such as breakers, transformers, disconnect switches, and buswork.
- Support field installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of physical systems and control wiring.
- Ensure designs meet applicable standards (e.g., IEEE, NESC, NEC) and client requirements.
- Participate in site visits, design reviews, and project meetings.
- Expertise in electrical design and physical design.
- Experience with substation design and power delivery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and P4A.
- AS or BS Degree in technical discipline or a related field.
- Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, and NEC standards.
