POSITION PURPOSE:This position will supervise 30+ associates in the production of finished whole foods packaging. The supervisor ensures the delivery of high quality products to our customers according to established specifications and production schedules within the department.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
  • Spend at least 90% of his or her time on the plant floor working with and coaching operators, packers, and temporary associates.
  • Consistently ensure, through constant feedback and coaching, that operators within the area are meeting or exceeding production targets while protecting world class safety and quality.
  • Manage shift decisions with an understanding of how those decisions drive plant performance.
  • Consistently track required metrics and provide constant feedback to associates and their teams about their performance.
  • Drive area for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Coach associates on adherence to standardized work.
  • Meeting or exceeding shift production targets.
  • Assisting VP of Operations in driving high levels of associate engagement.
  • Providing input to VP of operations for associate development and year-end review process.
  • Ensuring compliance to standardized work.
  • Ensuring associates comply with standards for GMP's, SQF, uniform, cleaning and sanitation, Safety and Quality.
  • Performs other job duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Minimum 4 year degree in a relevant field
EXPERIENCE:
  • System Implementation preferred
  • Minimum 2 yrs experience preferred
  • Experience supervising and training production personnel up to 30 people.
  • Experience in a union shop is helpful
  • Experience in manufacturing in a food environment.
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Conversational Spanish very helpful but not required.
  • Broad knowledge of plant systems and processes.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Excellent communication and conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to work with people, both individually as well as in team
