- Lead Technical Research and Design: Drive the development of next-generation technologies to support the growth of the store fulfillment network. Assess potential automation solutions and assist with their selection, use, and application.
- Grow Engineering Capabilities: Lead and develop a team of mechanical, electrical, industrial, pneumatic, controls, robotic, and software (IT/WMS) engineers across various locations.
- Provide Technical Assistance: Support Program Managers, Store Managers, operations team leaders, and maintenance personnel during the implementation, start-up, and operation of new automation. Offer training and assistance in writing Standard Operating Practices (SOPs), establishing Lean methodologies, and maintenance procedures.
- Leadership and Guidance: Share experience and broad knowledge of industry technologies, equipment, and material handling solutions. Utilize lean process flow and continuous improvement tools to break barriers and unlock the potential of the Engineering Organization.
- Data and Digital Literacy: Proficiency in leveraging data analysis tools to explore complex data, develop and test hypotheses, and influence strategic work. Ability to use visualization tools to represent data and construct coherent stories to influence decisions.
- Influential Communication: Strong organizational and communication skills to present complex information clearly and accurately. Ability to influence teams, customers, and clients, and provide constructive feedback.
- Process Flow Design: Expertise in interpreting information to quantify supply chain decisions, managing suppliers, and understanding logistical processes. Proficiency in business process design tools and techniques.
- Automation System Design: Ability to identify areas for automation, assess tasks for automation potential, and analyze space and cost requirements. Experience in resolving issues related to automation machinery.
- Automation Integration: Knowledge of common issues and considerations for integrating new automation designs. Experience in project performance measurement, technology interface development, and integration testing.
- Mechatronics: Proficiency in updating CAD drawings, understanding drafting conventions, and troubleshooting control systems. Knowledge of electrical design concepts and mechanical components of Distribution and Fulfillment Center equipment.
- Operational Excellence: Awareness of department goals and operating issues. Ability to document regulatory requirements, resolve obstacles, and implement Standard Operating Procedures.
- Partnership and Collaboration: Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external partnerships. Communicate shared goals and solve shared problems.
- Business Acumen: Provide recommendations to solve complex business issues, develop business cases, and translate business requirements into projects. Serve as a conduit to connect business needs with tangible solutions.
- Project Management: Maintain open communication among project participants, identify project risks, and create contingency plans. Conduct project reviews and build strategic roadmaps.
- Continuous Improvement: Streamline critical workflows, develop methods for improving processes, and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement. Analyze findings to ensure the success of interventions.
- Engineering Economics: Advise on financial tools and techniques, build business cases, and oversee financial analysis to evaluate automation performance.
- Advanced Analytics: Apply data analysis and modeling techniques, utilize data analysis software, and support the identification of statistical techniques.
