Admissions is charged with leading undergraduate recruitment and outreach efforts for the entire university, as well as making decisions on all undergraduate applications and processing graduate applications. This complex office of over 60 staff recruits actively around the state of Colorado and around the world to interact with an annual inquiry pool of over 60,000 students each year and manages over 30,000 applications per year, including 4700 transfer applications. Through innovative and strategic approaches, Admissions strives to balance its growth in attracting an increasingly diverse and well-prepared student body with remaining true to its land-grant mission and heritage. Colorado State was the first public institution west of the Mississippi with membership in the Common Application and employs a holistic, comprehensive review process to best select new undergraduates not only in light of their preparation but their potential to successfully contribute to the campus community.
Position SummaryThis position actively recruits primarily first year students to CSU by serving as a guide and advocate for prospective students, families and communities within your territory.
You will make strategic decisions as a territory manager using real-time data, knowledge of your territory and relationships with community members.
You will connect with prospective students and families virtually and in person and through channels including email, phone, text and video. You will serve as the face of the university at recruitment events, information sessions, and during off-campus engagements,
This is a twelve-month, full-time permanent position with some travel and evening/weekend commitments.
Required Job Qualifications
- A bachelor degree
- Professional interest in admissions
- Able to work irregular work hours, including some nights and weekends
- Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain a driver's license by the employment start date
- Previous admissions or college counseling experience
- Ability to speak, read and write fluently in Spanish
- Demonstrated experience giving presentations to groups of various sizes
- Experience working with student populations
Duty/Responsibility
- Counsel prospective students and their families/advocates through the enrollment process, including navigating campus systems, requirements, processes, and resources.
- Respond to phone, email, and text inquiries in a timely fashion.

- Plan and execute year-round recruitment travel (apprx 8-10 weeks) representing CSU at events such as high school visits, college fairs, one-on-one appointments, information sessions, and other recruitment events.
