A Field Service Technician (Service Engineer) contributes to the success of Hartwig by keeping our customers' CNC machine tools running at peak operating levels by performing preventive maintenance.This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical maintenance experience who wants to work around CNC machines. Main responsibilities of this full-time role based in the St. Louis, MO area include:
  • Conducting high quality, efficient and timely repair and installation of CNC machines
  • Recommending modifications and improvements to machines, equipment and processes
  • Training and instructing customers on service, repair and proper installation
  • Using software and electrical tools to find damaged work parts and identifying permanent solutions to repair computer-controlled machines and accessories
  • Ability to complete necessary tasks in our service software and timecard system daily
  • Traveling to customer sites, sometime within a 3-hour radius from home, with occasional overnight travel
Qualifying Skills:
  • 4 years of demonstrated mechanical and electrical experience
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Formal education or training in troubleshooting, repair and installation for CNC Machines - highly preferred
  • Experience repairing and servicing CNC machines- highly preferred
  • Field Service experience with electromechanical equipment (i.e. HVAC, printing presses, etc.)
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license to ensure fleet vehicle insurability
