- Licensure: Current LPN license in the state of Missouri. Must be a licensed driver.
- Certification/Registration:
- IV certification required (or within 1 year of hire)
- Possesses and maintains current BLS CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
- Preferred Experience: Prefer one year experience in a related field.
- Other skills & knowledge:
- Complies with accepted professional standards and principles.
- Understands Hospice philosophy; issues related to death/dying and grief. Complies with Unity Health Hospice Health Status requirements.
- Has ability to provide good written documentation in a timely manner.
- Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation and has ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
- Employee has significant impact on patient welfare.
- Effects or errors in determining patient condition or administering medication could be critical. Employee is frequently to continuously alone with patient and must be able to handle emergencies without assistance.
- Employee must be able to assist falling or fallen patient; must be able to perform CPR alone. Individual homes may present poor lighting situations, exposure to pets and other allergens, pest infestations and poor cleanliness.
- Employee may be exposed to irate and abusive patients and families.
- Employee must be able to assess home situation for possible patient abuse.
- Employee may be required to drive at night and/or in hazardous conditions; must be able to follow written/verbal instructions and read a map. Employee must independently schedule patient visits in timely and efficient manner; checking in with office daily to update schedule. Employee has regular contact with agency staff members, physicians, hospital or medical center staff, general public. Employee regularly handles confidential information.
