This role is based in our Austin office and will support our Marketing, Revenue, and Talent Programs teams. As an Associate HRBP, you will serve as a collaborative partner to leaders and employees, helping to drive engagement, operational excellence, and development across our GTM functions. You will also help support Talent Programs at the company-wide level.This role will require someone who is willing to be flexible and tactical - someone who is energized by rolling up their sleeves, solving problems, and building foundational programs in partnership with others across the People team.You Will
  • Partner closely with managers and leaders across Marketing and Revenue to support performance, talent programs, and employee development.
  • Facilitate core HR programs and processes (e.g., check-ups, annual reviews, engagement surveys), offering guidance and ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Serve as a generalist across a range of HR responsibilities including onboarding, employee experience, internal communications, and people operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the broader People team to deliver high-quality, consistent programs and policies including support for Talent Programs.
  • Act as a trusted resource for employees, helping them navigate their experience at Cockroach Labs and connect to the right support systems.
  • Support data hygiene, systems updates, and administrative activities as needed to keep our people processes running smoothly.
  • Champion an inclusive and engaging culture, contributing to efforts that increase belonging, communication, and collaboration.
  • Act as the primary liaison for Marketing HR needs aligning with Principal HRBP for broader GTM strategies.
  • Work closely with the Principal GTM HRBP (the manager for this role) for alignment of GTM global HR and business initiatives.
The ExpectationsIn your first 30 days, you will get to know our HR tools, processes, and team structure. You'll meet with stakeholders across GTM (primarily Marketing) functions and begin to understand team needs.In your first 60 days, you'll start to own specific HR responsibilities, supporting managers through core programs and surfacing opportunities for process improvement.By 90 days, you'll be fully embedded in our People team rhythms. You'll be the go-to partner for key teams and a critical connector between our HR programs and the day-to-day needs of employees.You Have
  • 3-5 years of relevant HR experience, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth company.
  • Experience supporting client groups in an HRBP or generalist capacity.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to take on a range of responsibilities, from administrative to strategic.
  • A collaborative working style and strong relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • An understanding of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices and a desire to learn additional geographies.
  • High level of discernment, discretion and ability to apply an impartial but thoughtful lens to complex business and personnel situations.

Located in Cockroach's Sales Center of Excellence in Austin, Texas, Bethany seeks true partnerships with business leaders, aiming to align and bridge business and people strategy.
