- Lead systems development across diverse functional teams in a dynamic environment - providing technical leadership and decision-making to optimize safety, quality, cost, and schedule in support of customer commitments and regulatory compliance.
- Lead system requirements management and cross-functional systems allocation/decomposition, ensuring requirements address regulatory needs.
- Manage systems architectures and configurations, considering requirements for certification.
- Define and lead systems test plans, verification, and validation, specifically tailored to meet regulatory requirements and demonstrate safety.
- Support regulatory certifications and safety-critical validations required for autonomous rail vehicle operation.
- Work with regulatory agencies, such as the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) in the US and similar bodies internationally, to understand requirements, demonstrate compliance, and secure necessary waivers or approvals.
- Address and resolve issues related to fielded systems, providing comprehensive support throughout the product lifecycle, including those impacting certification.
- Research technological advancements and recommend potential applications and technology investments to enhance our solutions and support future certification efforts.
- Perform limited domestic and international travel in support of customer deliveries, testing, demonstrations, and regulatory engagements.
- Work within dynamic teams of 3-10 members on diverse projects.

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science.
- 3+ years of experience working with complex, integrated systems.
- Experience with systems engineering development lifecycle for integrated hardware and software systems.
- Experience with testing, verification, and validation of complex systems.
- Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.
- Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment and as an individual contributor.

- Fluent in both written and verbal English.
- Experience in requirements management, systems architecture, model-based design, interface management, systems integration, test, verification, and validation.
- Experience with safety-critical systems development and certification.
- Experience in the development and verification of autonomous systems.
- Knowledge and experience working with railway systems in the US and/or internationally.
- Experience interacting with regulatory bodies, such as the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), or other national/international transportation or safety agencies
- Experience in securing regulatory approvals or waivers for novel systems or technologies.
- Experience working in Agile environments for hardware and software development.
